Our Story

Dr. Samantha Peters grew up participating in multiple sports as a child and loved running, figure skating, and playing soccer, amongst other things.  She had an ongoing nagging injury called shin splints, where the front part of her calves were very tight, and despite exercising, stretching, massaging, nothing seemed to help.  She felt like nothing was working to "unlock" her muscles and it started getting in the way of things.  She hoped for a process where something could act like a "key" to "unlock" her tight muscles.  Nothing was available at the time that she was aware of.    Fast forward to 2015.

In 2015, she began working with a Functional Dry Needling Specialist (FDNS) in Oklahoma and saw the immediate benefits that dry needling could provide.  In 2016, she decided to take her first dry needling course through Kinetacore (now Evidence in Motion).  Around that time, she had finished her first marathon and was lined up to do more half-marathons, but she had an nagging hip injury.  During that first dry needling course, she ended up having her hip treated by an FDNS PT.  While her hip felt fatigued from the treatment, which is typical, she felt instant pain relief.  That evening she had 6 miles to run, according to her training schedule.  Of course, she ran her 6 miles, and for the first time in YEARS, her hip did not hurt while she ran.  Since then, she has wanted to share this technique with her patients, and has successfully helped many people.

Upon moving to Florida in 2018, PTs were not yet approved to perform dry needling.  Thankfully in 2020, PTs were officially allowed to practice dry needling within the state of Florida.  Once this determination was official, Dr. Peters immediately looked for ways to implement Dry Needling within her day to day practice.  As a result, in 2022, Concierge Physical Therapy of Celebration was born.
